Assistant Project Manager

In the role of Assistant Project manager (Project Engineer) at Jalisco, you will play a vital part in supporting our Project Managers in overseeing construction projects. Your responsibilities will encompass providing technical guidance to field crews, maintaining close client interactions, and ensuring that all project aspects align with design, budget, and schedule. This position embodies our company culture, and vision.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with Project Managers in the planning and execution of construction projects from inception to completion.
  • Implement corporate policies, procedures, and organizational structures for assigned operational segments within the framework of corporate policy.
  • Assist in the review of project plans to establish time frames, work plans, funding parameters, and procedures for project completion.
  • Engage with client representatives and subcontractors as needed.
  • Take charge of submitting correspondence, shop drawings, schedules, submittals, and other documentation to the client’s representatives as directed by the Project Manager.
  • Play a role in managing the financial aspects of contracts, including project billing, payment processing, subcontractor payments, supplier payments, rental equipment, income/expenses, and work-in-progress schedules.
  • Ensure strict adherence to company, client, and project policies/procedures as specified.
  • Collaborate with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and company field personnel in resolving construction-related issues.
  • Maintain continuous professional development, enhancing individual and team innovation and productivity.
  • Handle additional responsibilities as initiated by personal initiative or assigned by higher authority.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in computer and construction-related technology skills.
  • Excel in various software packages, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Bid Build (Hard $), P6, and cost control and forecasting software.
  • Effectively communicate with clients, client representatives, company supervisors, project staff, subcontractors, suppliers, and other company personnel.
  • Accurately conduct mathematical analyses, encompassing project take-offs, cost analysis, and change order requests.
  • Safely operate various company vehicles.
  • Exhibit proficient problem-solving skills.
  • Coordinate schedules and complete essential tasks in a timely manner.

Competitive Salary Range- $60k -$100k depending on experience & qualifications.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management is preferred or high level of experience.
  • A combination of education and experience demonstrating the knowledge and ability to perform the work will be considered.
  • Familiarity with construction scheduling, cost control, and cost forecasting is a plus.

Work Environment:

  • The role entails working in both office and outdoor conditions, including exposure to inclement weather, heat, humidity, dust, exhaust, and fumes.
  • The position may involve working near moving mechanical parts and machinery.
  • Driving and navigation to various locations are required.

Special Requirements:

  • Must successfully pass controlled substance tests before and during employment.
  • A valid driver’s license with a clean MVR is mandatory.
