As we continue to grow, we're looking for a superintendent who is a strong communicator and is great at teamwork.

Schedule: Typically, Mon - Fri 7:00a - 6:00p. Varies based on project. Some weekend and night work required.

POSITION SUMMARY

Applicants need strong, positive communication and teamwork skills, including.

  • Scheduling, budgeting, and problem solving.
  • Leading a team, delegating responsibilities.
  • Ability to monitor job schedules, budget guidelines, cost control, production, and materials.
  • Partnering with project management to oversee scheduling and the quality of work performed will be a regular position task, with close attention to any potential conflicts.
  • Assist project management to enforce company policies, procedures, client expectations and industry safety standards.

Projects typically include various types of concrete structures, paving, interchanges, intersections, pipe, dirt, signals, and various other civil aspects.


Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Lead crews effectively, delegating responsibilities, ensuring production of quality work that meets company policies and industry standards.

  • Oversee scheduling and project budgets. Continued communication and documentation with project management.
  • Assist project management in preparing and executing work, manpower needs, material quantities, schedules and equipment needs.
  • Inform project management of potential problems, work interference, schedule difficulties budgetary concerns, employee and or safety concerns. Report to management, assist to resolve problems.
  • Always practice and monitor safety.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and Experience

  • Desire 3+ years as a Superintendent of DOT / Highway work.​​​
  • Any additional combination of education and experience that demonstrates the knowledge and ability to perform the work.
  • Strong knowledge of highway construction.
  • Experience managing crews of various sizes.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS/ABILITIES

  • Position requires employee to frequently stand, walk, twist, bend, handle objects, reach outward, and reach above head and shoulders, climb, descend, squat, kneel, bend, and occasionally lift carry/push/pull/move/drag on flat ground or steep slopes up to 75 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to and at all times during employment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Work is outdoors. Working conditions range from frigid to hot temperatures, high winds, flying dust, slipping hazards and conditions and frequently exposed to loud noise from heavy equipment and machinery.

  • Must be able to pass controlled substance tests prior to and at all times during employment.
  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean MVR is required.
